No Such Thing as a Hopeless Case

Words of Wisdom June 2, 2013 Download This Sermon This sermon is special.  My father suffered congestive heart failure.  The doctors offered no remedy. He had trouble eating, sleeping and even walking around.  Dad was very pale.  Everyone in the family was worried about Dad, and most of us assumed that he was living out his final days as his heart continued to weaken. But, God had other plans. My brother spoke a word of prophecy over Dad stating... " You are not dying.  You believe you are and so does most everyone else, but God told me to tell you that you aren't dying.  You will be restored and you will stand up and preach in your church as a testimony of God's divine healing power " The prophecy was true.  Dad's heart was working at 10% capacity at that time, but today his heart has been restored.  He feels better, looks better and we have all marveled at the miracle that has left his doctors baffled.  This ...

DESOLATE PLACE

Mark  6:31 And he said to them, " Come away by yourselves to a desolate place and rest a while ". (KJV refers to it as a desert place) The disciples had just returned from a mission journey. They were no doubt pumped and eager to share with Jesus what they had taught and what they had witnessed along the way, including the knowledge of the beheading of John the Baptist. But they were also exhausted, physically and mentally. There was still so much going on in their midst, they had no time for leisure, or even the simple task of eating. So Jesus beckons for them to come  be with Him in a desolate place, a desert place. "Desolate" in the dictionary can mean:  barren, a wasteland, a treeless landscape, deprived of inhabitants, solitary, lonely, dreary, dismal. He wanted them to be in a place where there was nothing at all to distract them from His presence. A place of total reliance on Him. To refresh them, He needed to have them in a place devoid of w...
