What is Sanctification?
The word sanctification means to ' be made holy ' or ' to set apart .' Sometimes we gloss over this important part of Christian living, but maybe we need to take a closer look at sanctification and examine our lives to see how we measure up. The term ' holiness ' appears in the Bible 43 times . Here are a few notable verses in the New Testament: Luke 1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. Romans 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness. 2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
