Surrendering All to God

Surrendering all to God is not a simple and easy thing to do. It is difficult, because surrendering means giving up. In our culture we are not taught to give up easily. We are mostly taught to hold on to things and press on to get, what we want. But, this is not how it works with God.

The truth is that He is the one, who is control. When you surrender to God – your life, your family, or other circumstances, – you have to give up the control over them to Him. It is like you are no longer steering your own car. You give the wheel to someone else. You are not in charge any more.

This does not mean you have to give up on your life and surrender to all the negative things or circumstances in it. God is the only one we should give up or surrender to. And, we have a good reason to do so: He loves us! He is the one, we can trust. And, He is in control of the entire Universe around us. The only thing He is NOT in control of is what’s inside you, of your soul. He cannot and will not surrender your soul to Himself without your permission. He has given you the free will and will not break it.

Just imagine the One, Who is in control of the hurricanes, mountains, of heaven and earth, but not of your soul. It is only up to you to surrender it to Him and let Him do the good work in you and perfect you.

Prayer suggestion: Humble yourself to the Lord and let Him take over your soul and spirit in your prayer. He will not hurt you. Ask Him to build up your trust to Him.

“For nothing will be impossible with God” -Luke 1:37

“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” -Philippians 4:13

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” -Proverbs 16:3

  1. Here is my problem. I have surrendered my heart to Jesus, but when I see a pretty women such as yourself my mind turns to the lust of the flesh. I can't help myself. What can I do to stop this behavior?

    1. What Are You Willing To Let Keep You Out Of Heaven?

"Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever" (1 John 2:15-17)

  2. I have been meditating the last few weeks on "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want".
I used to look at the from the perspective of not being in lack. But now, i am looking at it as not wanting things. If He is my Shepherd, then HE knows what is best for me. I don't want to let my wants (lol) get in the way of the best thing He has for me.

  3. Many years past, when I first received my sight, the travelling Evangelist who opened my eyes to God sojourned with many of us after his sermon, as we discussed what had been said, how we had interpreted the message, what effect it might produce in our lives, a question was asked of him, what his response to those who gave as an excuse for not attending services, or drawing nearer to God was "to many hypocrites ", his eyes sparkled and slowly grinning, he answered "If you can see those hypocrites between you and God, they must be closer to Him than you are". I've remembered that comment and shared it often, seeing the thoughts begin to take shape in the persons eyes as they pondered the significance of it.
