How do I React?

Galatians 5:16 - This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Here is my biggest challenge in my walk with ‪#‎Jesus‬. Learning to NOT react or to react under direction of the Holy Spirit and not my own carnal thinking.... to NOT allow my emotion to determine my reaction, but to trust in God's truth and wisdom and to love, to listen, and to follow His lead even when I don't fully understand.

Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We are prompted to ACT, and to REACT every day of our life. But, more often than not, we can react in ways that are not Biblical, not life-giving.. that are contradictory to God's first and greatest commandment (Love) and Jesus' teaching:

Matthew 5:39 - But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.

I received a life-changing revelation recently (ironically it happened on Twitter while working closely with a few 'insiders' on political campaigns) ... it is that we are being prompted to REACT by those who are intentionally manipulative. (This includes not only the enemy .. but people who would sell us their products or ideas ... people who want to control or use us for their own purposes). When you jump into their argument, you have already lost. These people often have little interest in changing your opinion, but they want to use your emotion and frustration about certain issues (in some pretty twisted ways) to 'better' themselves at your expense. None of this would work if we actually walked after the Spirit of God. God knows their heart and the best course of action for all of us (including those doing these things). We should trust God.

1 Corinthians 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

If you choose to travel this path of 'Walking after the Spirit', it will probably be upstream against most of the people that you know. Sadly, some of the most vicious attacks can come at the hands of people who claim to be followers of Jesus. They have no idea they are being used and manipulated, but these tell-tale signs are unmistakable: harsh words, anger, resentment, bitterness, haughty attitude, vengefulness, quick-tempered, overly critical, unteachable, manipulative, mean-spirited, anxious, inconsolable.

1 John 4: 18-21:There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us. If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

I know there is someone reading this today that needed this message. The Holy Spirit has exciting plans for your life. Jesus died for you so that you wouldn't have to live in bondage to sin or emotions. God the Father desires a deep and abiding relationship with you.

1 John 3:16-24 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, then have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
And this is His commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.

Be Blessed...
