Gambling with Salvation?

I am amazed at how many pastors say,

"I would rather live my life like Christ is Lord than not to.  Because if I am right, then I go to heaven, and if I am wrong, I have lost nothing."

Really?

Do you want to gamble on salvation?

Isn't this saying you don't have a relationship with Jesus?

Saul gambled in the same way.

Saul went around killing Christians using the word of God to do so.  He gambled that he was right in his theology.   But when he met the Author of scripture (Hebrews 12:2) he said "Who art thou Lord?" (Acts 9:5).  He didn't know God.  He gambled and he was wrong.

Prayerfully contemplate these scriptures.

Do you know Jesus, or simply know about Him?

Romans 8:9  But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

2 Thessalonians 1:7-8  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,  (8)  In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Matthew 7:21-23  Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  (22)  Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  (23)  And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Luke 13:24-27  Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.  (25)  When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:  (26)  Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.  (27)  But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
